The Grand Prix KO has crowned its champion, and “HandSanitizer” is the player that has written their name into the PartyPoker Ontario history books. We billed the Grand Prix KO event as our biggest ever $55 buy-in tournament thanks to us placing a $20,000 guarantee on the prize pool.

Not only are we delighted for HandSanatizer because of their famous victory, but also for the fact that the Grand Prix KO beat its guarantee, and paid out $20,700! Wow!

Some 414 PartyPoker Ontario players made their way to the virtual felt over several starting flights, but only 59 of those starters made it through to Day 2 where the main prize pool cash was divided up. Nobody that reached Day 2 walked away with less than $63 for their efforts, while three of your fellow PartyPoker Ontario grinders saw four-figure sums land in their accounts!

Here is how the final table went down.

Grand Prix KO Final Table Results

Place Player Bounties Prize Total prize
1 HandSanitizer $1,830 $1,507 $3,337
2 Kittycats1556 $677 $1,505 $2,182
3 ciekawy $62 $1,016 $1,078
4 JSteeper $190 $670 $860
5 Joe Stapleton $267 $468 $735
6 K.clement $159 $372 $531
7 SpoOkyActioN $74 $281 $355
8 HipppoV $198 $230 $428
9 K___2 $316 $189 $505

The nine-handed final table was reached after “aurum” bowed out in tenth place, their deep run resulting in a payout of $382. Although aurum was obviously disappointed not to take a seat at the finale table, they managed to give their bankroll a boost.

The least prize money any of the finalists could capture was $189 but each of those nine stars at the final table has racked up plenty of bounty payments on their way to the grand finale, so each too home much more money than that.

“K___2” saw a $505 prize land in their account after they came unstuck in eighth place. They were joined on the rail in the role of a spectator by “HipppoV,” who banked $428, and then by “SpoOkyActioN,” the recipient of $355.

With SpoOkyActioN out of the way, only six players remained in contention to win the Grand Prix KO, our richest-ever $55 buy-in online poker tournament. Those six became five when “K.clement” found themselves void of chips; they collected $531 for their impressive deep run.

Five players were reduced to four with the untimely demise of “Joe Stapleton.” Fifth place in this event came with a combined prize that tipped the scales at $735. The last three-figure haul was reeled in by “JSteeper,” who crashed out of the tournament in fourth.

The Grand Prix KO was anyone’s tournament to win when only three players had chips in front of them. With bounties included, none of the final trio won less than $1,000! After much battling, “ciekawy” was eliminated in third place for a $1,016 score plus another $62 from the bounty prize pool. $1,078 for a few hours work is not a bad result at all.

Heads-up pitted HandSanitizer against “Kittycats1556.” Due to how progressive knockout tournaments work, both players receive similar prizes from the main prize pool, $1,507 and $1,505 to be exact, and they locked horns and butted heads for the last of the bounties.

Eventually, Kittycats1556 was shown the door, and they saw their main prize bolstered by $677 worth of scalps, for a combined prize worth $2,182. HandSanitzier not only won the $1,507 first-place prize but nine additional bounties, including their own, which added $1,830 to their haul. HandSanitizer secured a total prize worth $3,337 plus will forever be known as the PartyPoker Ontario player than won our biggest ever $55 tournament.
