$20,000 Grand Prix KO Schedule
Satellites from $0.01
The recent PartyPoker Ontario Poker Championships saw us run our biggest-ever $55 buy-in online poker tournament. The Ontario Poker Championships Opener came with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool. This next beauty is even bigger, twice as large, in fact, because the Grand Prix KO hits PartyPoker Ontario from March 5, bringing with it a gigantic $20,000 guarantee on its prize pool.
You have plenty of chances to play in the $20,000 guaranteed Grand Prix KO because there are 19 Day 1s in total. Those flights run from 18:30 ET on March 5, and end with a turbo-structured Day 1 at 16:00 ET on March 14. Day 2, the final day, runs from 19:00 ET on March 14. Reach this stage and you are guaranteed at least a min-cash from the main prize pool.
An Amazing Blind Structure
Players in the $55 buy-in Grand Prix KO sit down with a generous stack of 100,000 chips and play ten-minute levels where the blinds start at 500/1,000/50a. We may be accused of bias but the blind structure is phenomenal. Even after an hour’s play, the blinds are still only 700/1,400/180a! This is your chance to play in a tournament with a structure that would not look out of place if it commanded a buy-in 10-to-100 times as large!
Each flight allows one re-entry before the end of the 14th level, which is when late registration on that flight slams shut. Bust after Level 14 and you’ll have to play in a different Day 1 if you want to become the Grand Prix KO champion.
Day 1 concludes when only 10% of the field remains, and those top 10% progress to Day 2 on March 14 with a min-cash in tow, in addition to any bounties they have accumulated along the way.
The $20,000 Grand Prix KO allows you to play in as many flights as you wish, but only your largest stack is taken through to the final day if you progress more than one; all other chip stacks are forfeited. It is a similar story regarding bounties. Although you get to keep the bounties you win for eliminating your fellow Ontarians, only the largest bounty on your head goes through with you to Day 2, with the others being absorbed into the main prize pool.
