The Gladiator is one of PartyPoker Ontario’s most popular Daily Legends tournaments. The exciting progressive knockout tournament steps into the arena and shuffles up and deals at 18:05 EST Monday through Saturday; will you take it on?
Fifty-five Canadian dollars is what it costs to fight it out in The Gladiator, that is unless you manage to secure your $55 seat via one of the several $7.50 buy-in satellites running each day. Unlike in an actual gladiatorial battle, the weapons of choice are chips, and your $55 buy-in grants you 50,000 betting tokens.
It pays to play aggressive in progressive knockout tournaments, so feel free to do so knowing that up to two re-entries are permitted during the late registration period. That late reg period last until the end of the 12th level, with each level spanning ten minutes.
PartyPoker Ontario guarantees a $1,500 purse, where half is awarded like a traditional tournament, and the remaining 50% placed on the heads of each entrant in equal chunks. Defeat an opponent to instantly win 50% of their bounty as a cash prize with the remainder of your haul increasing the price on your head. Finish top of the pile and you get to keep the bounty on your head, too.

Monster1078 Eliminates Half of the Field on the Way to Victory
A recent edition of The Gladiator saw 31 Ontarians take to the PartyPoker Ontario virtual felt and create a $1,550 prize pool. Remember how earlier we said it pays to play aggressive in a PKO tournament? Well, it seems “Monster1078” took that advice onboard because they bulldozed their way to victory.
The compact field meant only the top six finishers received a payout from the main prize pool, and it was “gail1974” who was the first to bag some of that cash. With bounties included, the sixth place finisher banked $60.27.
“Thehood2004991” was the next finalist to be ejected from The Gladiator; they scooped $69.21 for their efforts.
Fourth place and $88.58 went to “chris777444” before “A.k177” was slain in third and hauled in the tournament’s first three-figure payment, namely $121.56.
Heads-up saw “Monster1078” take on “sorry4urluck” in a battle to the death. Both players guaranteed themselves over $217 from the main prize pool, but the final bounty payment was massive, and most of it was on “Monster1078″‘s head.
“Monster1078” got the job done and added $568.75 from the bounty prize pool to the $217.77 from the main prize pool. The champion had eliminated 15 of the 31 entrants and helped themselves to $568.75 of the $775 bounty prizes! An incredible performance to say the least.
