The wait for the first PartyPoker tournament series in Ontario is almost over, with the Ontario Poker Championships set to begin, offering many chances for players to become a Main Event champion.
The Ontario Poker Championships will run on On.PartyPoker.ca from Sunday, September 11, 2022, to Monday, September 26, 2022. Players can also access the event on BetMGM Poker and bwin in Ontario, due to the shared player pools that are a result of the brands’ relationship with Entain.
All events will have three buy-in levels, with $320 and $530 buy-in High Roller events running throughout the series. There will also be a range of formats available, with 6-Max, 7-Max, 8-Max, PKO, Hyper, Turbo and Deepstack events all included in the schedule.
The series will get underway with The Opener, with buy-ins ranging from $2.20 to $55 and guaranteed prize pools rising from $250 to $5,000.
A highlight of the festival will be the high version of the Main Event, which will guarantee $50,000 and can be bought into for $109. The tournament will involve at least 16 starting flights before Day 2, which takes place on the final day of the series. Players can enter the Main Event’s high version from just $0.01, with centrolls available throughout the series.
Meanwhile, the medium version of the Main Event brings a guarantee of $10,000 for a buy-in of $22, and the low version will guarantee $5,000 for a $5.50 buy-in. All three versions of the Main Event will operate concurrently.
Also offering plenty of opportunities for players to enter will be the Weekender events pencilled in for both the middle and final weekend of the series. Guarantees go from $3,000 up to $15,000, and buy-ins range from $11 to $55. At least four starting flights will take place across Friday to Sunday, with Day 2s seeing out the weekend on Sunday nights.
Wrapping up the series on the final day will be The Closer PKO Turbo, where the guarantee range of $750 to $5,000 comes for a buy-in range of $5.50 to $109.
